Scotch-Grip™ 2353 fastener Adhesives are microencapsulated, room-temperature curing adhesives which enhance the anchorage of threaded fasteners. The adhesives are designed to be coated on the fasteners and dried; they remain dormant until the shearing action of engaging the fastener into a nut or threaded cavity breaks the capsules and allows the adhesive to cure. Typical applications are fasteners for the engine compartment or safety-related parts.
Features:
Internal thread must have a countersink (no sharp-edged threads inserts), otherwise the patch could be peeled off when the screw is installed. The female thread must be dry, free of dirt, oil, separating agents and other contaminations. Thread friction value must be considered when mounted.
Screws locking against loosening.
Threaded parts from M3 up to M68. Lengths up to 220 mm. Nuts from M5 up to M12. Vehicle construction as well as for safety components.
Temperature range –30 °C to 110 °C
